A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a documented report from an analytical laboratory confirming that a compound meets defined quality specifications. For research peptides, a COA typically documents molecular identity verification, purity percentage as measured by HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), mass spectrometry confirmation, and test methodology.

HPLC purity measurement separates compound components by polarity and measures peak areas relative to total chromatogram area. A result of ≥99% purity means that 99% or more of the measured substance corresponds to the target compound, with ≤1% representing impurities or degradation products.

What is the difference between RUO and clinical-grade compounds?

Research Use Only (RUO) compounds are manufactured and supplied for scientific research purposes and have not undergone the regulatory review required for clinical or therapeutic use. Clinical-grade (GMP) compounds meet additional manufacturing and documentation requirements for use in human or animal trials. NYsub Peptides supplies RUO compounds only.

How can I verify the identity of a received compound?

Each NYsub Peptides shipment includes or references a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis. The COA documents mass spectrometry data and HPLC retention time, which can be compared against reference databases for identity confirmation. The batch number on the vial corresponds to the COA batch number.

What analytical methods are used for purity testing?

Our independent laboratory partners use reverse-phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) for purity determination and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) for molecular identity confirmation. Specific column types, mobile phase compositions, and gradient conditions are documented in the COA test methodology section.
