Purity & Laboratory Testing
Each lot of PT-141 supplied by NYsub Peptides is analytically characterized for identity and purity:
- HPLC purity: verified to ≥99% by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.
- Identity: confirmed by mass spectrometry (MS) against the expected molecular mass. Reported molecular formula C50H68N14O10; CAS 189691-06-3 (free peptide).
- Certificate of Analysis (COA): lot-specific values for purity, mass, peptide content and appearance are reported on the COA accompanying each lot.
The figures above are analytical characterizations of identity and purity only and do not imply any biological property or fitness for any application. For research use only, not for human use.
Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis is available per production lot, documenting HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity confirmation.
Research Background & Study Phase
For Research Use Only · Not for human or veterinary use · Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
References to clinical phases/studies describe the compound in independent third-party literature (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed) and do not represent claims, testing, or approval by NYsub Peptides.
PT-141, known in the scientific literature as bremelanotide, is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide structurally derived from α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It has been characterized in the literature as a non-selective melanocortin receptor (MCR) agonist, reported to activate several receptor subtypes including MC1R, MC3R and MC4R. Its reported amino acid sequence is Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-OH (as characterized on the lot COA).
The compound has been the subject of peer-reviewed laboratory and clinical research conducted by third parties. Two identically designed Phase 3 randomized, placebo-controlled studies (the RECONNECT program) examined bremelanotide and are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under identifiers NCT02333071 and NCT02338960, sponsored by Palatin Technologies, Inc. As a matter of third-party regulatory record, the compound has been approved in other regulatory contexts for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women (initial approval 2019). These third-party milestones are provided as scientific and historical context only.
Research Applications
For Research Use Only · Not for human or veterinary use · Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
In the published third-party literature, the compound has been investigated as a tool for in-vitro and laboratory study of:
- Melanocortin receptor signaling — characterization of agonist activity at MC1R, MC3R and MC4R receptor subtypes.
- Receptor pharmacology and structure–activity studies of α-MSH-derived cyclic peptides.
- Peptide stability, identity and analytical-method development in laboratory settings.
These research lines are provided for scientific context only and describe third-party work; they do not constitute claims by NYsub Peptides. This material is supplied for laboratory research and is not for human use, diagnostic use, or therapeutic use.
Handling, Storage & Reconstitution
Store the lyophilized powder at -20°C, protected from light and moisture, minimizing freeze-thaw cycles. Stability with bacteriostatic or sterile water has been characterized for laboratory reference only, with single-use aliquots stored frozen to preserve integrity. Handle with appropriate PPE. Not for human use.
